We got an envelope in the mail this week from Homeland Security. There are only a few people that would probably be as excited as I was to get that out of the mailbox! We received a notice from immigration that they have received our application and home study. Oh, and our payment!
So now we are waiting to get an invitation from them to go to our local immigration office to be fingerprinted. They do computerized fingerprinting. And are apparently very strict in their rules and procedures.
I learned a little about the fingerprinting at an adoption coffee that I went to on Tuesday. Most of the people there were social workers. Even so, it was fun to talk to people that have a heart for adoption. There was one woman there that was in the process of adopting. She travels in March. So there was someone at the beginning (me) and someone at the very end of the process. We just talked about questions, fears, joys and fun stuff. And I learned a few more lingo words!
