Right now we are still waiting to hear from CIS – for the appointment to get our fingerprints taken. No news yet. After the approval comes from CIS, it will go in our dossier. That is usually the piece of information that you have to wait the longest for. So it is best to have everything else ready to go.
So while we are waiting, we are gathering and preparing things for the dossier. Mainly it is filling out, typing out and copying things that we have already done. A copy of our medical forms, copies of our passports and all other certificates that you could think of and a basic statement of who we are and who we want to adopt. That’s really it.
I thought it would be more complicated than this. But I think that the complication comes in the waiting and not hearing anything for so long. We really haven’t gotten to that portion yet…
I am working on the pictures of “family and lifestyle” for our dossier. It’s a good thing that I kind of got into scrapbooking recently (really just memory books – souvenirs mixed with pictures). So I have PhotoShop (very important – when that good picture has just one little thing wrong with it!) and photo mounting paper. I have successfully collected my pictures and am getting them ready!

I thought you already had been fingerprinted? Or was that for a local level?

Yes and Yes
We were fingerprinted for our FBI and state background checks. Now we have to be fingerprinted (biometrically) for Immigration. There is a lot of repeating things, just in slightly different ways!
Carrie,
I love reading about your journey and I am so excited for you! It has been a blessing to me watching you grow over the past few years. I know God has some awseome things in store for you and your family. I can't wait until your family portrait is complete. I will keep praying.
I love you! Jana
